Today I want to introduce you to a game I made called SAFU, it’s a game on the Playdate device which a friend of mine lent to me and out of boredom birthed this master<del>slop</del>piece.

Why? A Playdate game, in this economy?

But why not? I mean sure it has no real quick cash grab opportunities but as a builder I’ve always wanted to experiment with new stuff, especially niche stuff since I won’t have to worry about competitions. AI frontier models have now reached a level of intelligence that allows us to stop braining (at least with low-risk projects) combined with the fact that Playdate is now around 3 years old, which has made its ecosystem and the SDK mature enough that we can leave the driving to agents and really focus on building the game.
